Default SRR Final Drive

ONLY POST SOMETHING ABOUT IT IF YOU HAVE IT, NOT IF YOUR FRIEND OR YOUR BOY HAS IT!

Which one did you get? How do you like it? Any problems with it?

There was a huge thread about it and how the metal isnt properly treated and chunks of metal come off of the teeth on the gear. Apparently the thread was deleted.

Have you tried the SEARCH function?

I would love to see some current reviews (I did read the old one) and feedbacks from users.

I wish to go through with this next year.

confirmation also came from SRR in taiwan that it'll only fit non-lsd hydro d's (of the 92-00 series)

i edited this to say that the SRR FD's for 92-00 will work on all hydro d16 and d15, but NOT d15 w/ OE LSD!

That's good info man.

Some info taken and learned from D-series.org:

Y8 transmission (1st, 2nd, 5th)
ZC 3rd 4th gear
Quaife LSD
ACT Prolite flywheel + clutch combo (4/6 puck?)
SRR 4.9 FD

I think that is a good transmission setup for a D15/16. Pricy build up just for the transmission part. I hope I can be one of the first people to experience this set up and provide feedback.

I have just installed OBX LSD and SRR 4.7 FD into my S20 tranny. road racing and drag results coming soon. after 15 mins of driving, the FD whine is driving me nuts!! just from that alone i would not recommend it for street cars unless you are hardcore. there is a slight chance we didn't clearance the case quite enough. but check this thread, several others reports the whine too. the noise is possibly also from the relatively un-smooth finish of the SRR FD. it IS helical cut like stock but the machining quality is not the greatest.

Would it be a viable option to have the SSR gear tempered and cryo'd?
