mini me or stock d16y8 in crx??

Default mini me or stock d16y8 in crx??

i have a complete d16y8. I also have my stock d16a6 in my 90 crx si........I'm looking for the biggest hp gain. Are these motors identical besides the head?? meaning will they put out the same hp if i were do to a mini me with those two motors......or just throw in the whole d16y8??


What WOOuld u DOoooooo In my shoes?

I'd put a vote in to do the whole swap and sell the a6 to a poor d15b2 owner.... What obd1 distributor can you use the y8 or would you just keep it obd0 and activate vtec with a relay?

the a6 is a stronger engine, and check out the newer forums, the y8's tend to have oil problems, and some people even buy a6 bottom ends and put them in. but, if the y8 engine is almost new, and your a6 is like mine (rod knock and piston slap, i'm seeing how much longer it'll last) and you don't feel like rebuilding it, just do the whole swap.

i believe the z6 bottom has the strongest bottom compared to a6 and y8.

I'd say use the a6 bottom end put install some dohc zc pistons with the z6 head and call it a day. Your compression with the zc pistons wil be around 11:8:1.

yeah i've heard the a6 has a stronger bottom end than the z6 an y8....... if i do the whole d16z6(sorry thought it was an y8 my bad, its a z6) can i re-use my axels from my d16a6?

yes, you have to use the crx tranny anyway
