Default car will not start....need help

my ef-9 will not start......heres the run down, driving down the highway at 65 mph. i was not beating on it but the car shut down. when it happened, it made a loud poping noise in the cat... im getting spark at my rotor, plugs are new. timing belt is fine, im getting fuel and intake is getting air. now ive been driving the car for 2 weeks after it sitting for 6 months. a friend said an animal could have made a nest in my exaust.....dont know if thats true. but could be a solution. meaning no back pressure......any answers. please post back

thanks
matt

an animal "making a nest in your exhaust" would get blown out when the car cranked... and it would crank if that was it's only issue. what's back pressure? who cares.... your friend knows nothing.

how do you know it made a popping noise int he cat? how do you know it wasn't out your muffler? or a backfire through your intake? never heard a cat make a popping noise.

your timing belt is "fine" but is the engine in time? check your timing... maybe it skipped a tooth or two... or three....

do a compression test... see if you bent a valve, busted a rod, etc.....

timing belts get old and skip teeth when something goes a little wrong, a lot wrong, or age catches up with them... not to mention if the tensioner pulley has a quirk in it.....

that woudl be where i would start b/c if you are getting stark and gas then the only reason it shouldn't start (aside from having low/no compression) would be the timing.... as far as i know of anyway...
