Default MSD rev limiter not working? WTF!

Its a very simple installation and i have gone over my wiring several times. Blk/org to coil wht/red to dist. power and ground. I tried it with a 3 k pill and it doesn't hold. I then put in a 7k pill and still nothing. I thought the box was bad so i grabbed another one from i car i was working on that i just installed and still nothing. Any suggestions?

there is a black cap with a screw in the middle on the side of the box if you unscrew it you will see two wires under that cap

Cut both wires = 4 Cyl
Cut 1 wire = 6 Cyl
Cut 0 wires = 8 Cyl

it doesn't look like the 7al-2 can be programmed to run a 4 cyl. the car runs but no rev limit or 2 step

its because you, most likely, bought an 8 cyl box, they make a specific box for a 4 cyl... i belive it has a 4 at the end of the part number.

part numbers are as follows.

121-7220---7AL-2 Ignition Control--- 8-cyl.

121-7224-- 7AL-2 Ignition Control--- 4-cyl

121-7226----7AL-2 Ignition Control---6-cyl. (even fire only)

121-7250---7ML-2 Marine Race Ignition----- | View Product

JEGS

btw. i have a 7al, 4cyl box for sale.
