i know everyone talks about hybrid trannys and swapping gears between the si and zc trannys, would the zc 1-5 gears be swappable into the dx tranny? this would basically give the dx tranny the same gear ratios as the zc tranny.

You would probably want to use the DX diff and final drive so you wont have to find new axles. But putting the zc gears in will give u a nice close (usable) ratio.

 

only reason i brought this topic up is because with a zc tranny install you have to have the zc intermiate shaft and 90-93 teg axles. the zc intermediate shafts are hard to find arent they...thats what i keep on hearing. so i just swap some of the zc gears into the dx tranny, the dx tranny will be just like the zc tranny.

 

any more input?

 

it should work just fine.

 

make sure the ZC transmission and the DX transmission have the same number of splines on the input shaft so you can use your same clutch
