smoking exaust problem!

Default smoking exaust problem!

finshed my swap today finally, 95 ex motor in a cx hatch. When i floor it crazy black smoke comes outy of the exhaust!! An my idle is jumping up an dowm at a dead stop, could this b my TPS an my o2 sensor r bad?

black smoke = gas so yea something aint right. before you go and buy o2 sensor, make sure its connected, they come off sometimes. If u got a local shop try swapping out the IAC and see if that will fix it. Also, could be ur throttle bodys getting stuck. try some WD40 on it

I just want to add that the map senors is something bad too. Does you check engine light comes on and stay on?

bad news!!! The pistons rings r shot, im getting crazy blow by. Thats the smoke thats coming from the exhaust, i haev no luck once so ever wit sohc motors.

( you will need a piston ring tool first before starting)
First train the oil, take the oil pan off. To make it easier for the crank to turn, take out your spark plugs, all of them. Next if you decide to replace the rings one at a time. You don't have to make them. But it will be safe to mark them. Use a white out pen, mark them 1,2,3,4 so you will not forget where it came from. Disconnect one rod cap at a time, pull the rod and the piston down. You should check the rod bearings now since you have them out. Put the new rings on, but remember the rings go on with different degree so they will seal right. If you are not sure, you will have to use a repair book to find the degree.
