Im so sick of being slow with my motor. i currently have a d15b7 block with a b8 head.(don't ask me why, i bought it like that) can i change my head and get maybe a 20 hp power gain? if so, how hard is it to change a head?
It's most likely too much trouble and money to change the head for the hp gains you'd get. Why not save your money up for a d16 turbo or b16 swap?

that b8 head is destroying you,
you probably have closer toa d15b8 engine,
maybe you're at like 80-90hp or something?
do you have the b8 intake mani/throttle body as well?
that combo is horrid for power.
throw on a d15b vtec head/IM/TB and you should notice a HUUUGE gain in power,
especially up top.
you'll need a p28 or prefferably a p08 ecu to go with it though..
but yeah , you'll notice some great gains.
Or just swap in a d15b vtec! they're cheap

hey man u should just swap on a SOHC vtec head like this dude is selling or a z6 or y8 u will be happy with the final results

dood i also have a minivan and it has 3.6liter engine i think. lol. they pull hard and has lots of torque although a bit heavy.
jdm d15b will give you about 130hp. i test drove a DX couple of months back and it's really slow with stock motor

I'm currently daily-driving an EH2 with the D15B7 engine. It's actually quite quick. The engine is very well-maintained. Maybe you need to do a tune-up?

Turboing this car will be useless, he has the 8 valve cx head. It is killing his airflow, even if he swapped a dx head, he would instantly feel a nice power gain. But as everyone has said, just swap a D16Z6 head on there, hook up the P28 ecu with a D16Z6 tranny, and call it a day.

i have a almost complete (wont start, i THINK because of the alt but not positive) jdm d15b swap with ecu and 98 EX trans and exedy organic clutch...let me know if youre interested

Haha my buddy has a Nissan minivan with the VG30 in it, he put an intake and catback exhaust on it, and it's beaten a 3rd gen Lude and an old 240SX...and from a roll my del Sol doesn't leave him as fast as I would've thought it would.
