probably not a smart idea, im sure they'd rub. i use 225/50/15 on my fourth gen and they handle great

I have 19" X 8" w/ 215/23/19 on my 1997 Base model with no rubbing
I am riding on Neuspeed Koni's and H/R springs

17x8's here. no problems.

you need the right offset to run 8" wheels. +47 to +50mm, and a 215/40/17 or a 235/40/17 tire. someone's running a 245/35/17 but he had to roll his fenders. he likes it though.

wow, that's pretty wide, do you have pictures of how that would look like? I'm currently on 215/45/16, but for my next tires, i'm looking to get 225/50/16 or 225/45/16.

you want the 225/45's. there's some pics of the 235's and 245's on PO.
