i have a 4dr 98 civic, and im thinkin bout gettin a set of these...are all clear tail lights legal in california??

back on topic, i think they are legal with the right bulbs, further more, call your local DOT/DMV , or look on there website

Nope not legal anywhere I believe. Lights are supposed to be DOT approved. Taillights need reflectors in them.

I am sure Lexus has those DOT approved, which is key. I doubt you would buy a 30K+ car and have tailights that are illegal

Ya know it maybe a cool item in like 25 years when people start doing retro cars etc.... so in 2020 slap them on a civic coupe and enter it has a 1998 pre F2F

that style of all clear is a little "old" as mst would say but to bring them into the 21st century and up to DOT standards I would say Mask them up and make your own red/clear tails. that would be your best bet w/ red bulbs etc to make sure your legal.
Checkng w/ local DOT etc will also clear up any other ? you may have about it locally...
