Default Should I buy this EG?

Here's the idea... I am looking to pick up a hatch for a project. A guy is selling this one http://www.dejital1.com/gall . I've had mixed reactions and not sure if it would be worth the time and money.

My situation is that I have a 97 ls integra motor and tranny with a turbo set up. Was going to drop it into a hatch... The one pictured is being sold for 450. So what do you guys think?

I say pick it up. Fix the dents in the panels you can't easily replace and then replace the ones you can unbolt easily. I prolly wouldn't worry TOO much about the dents so long as the frame isn't bent, car isn't salvaged, and the interior is clean.

yea that's what i was thinking... the cars dents aren't too deep... i mean i would need a new hood... CF would be nice.. and the rust spots fixed, so a new paint job.. i don't think it would be too bad..especially for just 450 bucks.

Expect to put around $1500-2000 into the body to get it looking the way you want it.

damn dents on both sides that might cost a bit to fix. just get it leave it alone and put that turbo ls in it and people will be like look at that pos then you can smash on them.

Hey listen, Ive had three hatchies before, and body work has always been needed. Its defenitely good to go with your motor turbo setup. It is gonna cost maybe $2000 grand to get it looking like it just came out of the dealer, maybe more, or maybe less if you know somebody. But its not that bad at all, and you slap that LS turbo and just have yourself a sleeper for a while!!! Nobody will that one coming.

When I got mine it was the same DX,gray, and full of dents. The largest problem with mine was the dumb s$it's that had it let some half *** repairs be done. The quality was so bad we were forced to replace the whole left quarter. My poor little car had so much bad work done it took us, ie..four of us all the free time we had and then some, a month to get her even close to strait. Looks like that ones been left alone. Its harder to fix somebody elses mistakes than to fix it right the first time

The best advise I can give, other than hell yes buy it $450 isn't to much, would be take your time with it and do it right. Meaning if your going to change the color do the engine compartment before you drop in the LS. An what ever you do don't let the car consume you, its real easy to let a project take over a huge part of your life. Good luck and for Gods sake have fun!

if your ready for the work you will need, i would say pick her up. at least you already got the motor situation out of the way.

I have my cousin who does some body work and knows a lot of people who work in body shops. I have someone to spray it, so i do have connections to getting the body work out of the way.

The motor is no problem.. under control

Thanks!

****** her up reasonable priced hatches are becoming hard to come by. I paid almost two grand for mine. I know thats just a drop in the bucket, but for all the work to get her right it was to much.

Yea i figured that for the price that i'm gonna get the hatch for, i should take it up. Body work can be fixed, and i would much rather have this as a project car than have someone else's build up. Hard to come by a hatch that doesn't already have a swap and what not.

With my cousins helping me and their friends at body shops, she should come together real nice without getting raped on body shops usual charges.

thanks for the input. I figured for the price im getting it at i should take advantage. All the eg's i have seen around have rust or are scratched and dinged up. found a shell for a g that needed to be painted and had some other misc. things wrong with it. car actually runs so i can pick it up and drive it back. which is a plus

The damage on the quarters don't look as bad as the damage I had on my Si, if not the same. Maaco did some pretty darn good body work for cheap in fixing my quarter panel. Looked great outside and inside. As far as a paint, take it to some reputable paintshop.
