Default Removing cylinder head from d16a6

I was wondering if you guys could recommend some tips in removing the head from the block.

This long block is not in a car. I've removed all of the head bolts and from what I understand--those are the only things holding the head to the block.

I've been told to just pry the head off. Well, I'm guessin' the head gasket is bonded pretty well to the mating surfaces.

Suggestions? Thanx.
