Default Brake upgrade

I have a 1989 CRx Si, I plan to upgrade to rear drums, sourced from a 90-91 Si. I am curious what ou guys would suggest for upgrading the front, I was told EG civic fronts bolt up and are slightly larger. I am also currious about what should be done withbrake proportioning. Thanks for posting.

I have searched and I am just trying to confirm all that I have already found. I need larger brakes because I am runing a 275hp B16 and would like to be able to stop it.

Front: I wouldn't do the EG civic brake swap. I would try to find a '90-'93 acura integra brake setup and use that on your crx. The next option would be to go '94+ integra front spindle.

Back: On my rear disk swap, I took out the entire rear suspension (I did my springs/shocks at the same time). I had the trailing arm out, etc. You will need '90-91 crx si e-brake cables, and brake lines. Here you have lots of options. Any '90-'91 crx si trailing arms, '90-'99? (any DA and DC, except ITR) Acura Integra trailing arms, EX or Si (EG civic) rear trailing arms, I'm not sure about EK trailing arms, but who cares they blow anyway. (<U>Cheap shot, but I'm just kidding</U>).

Suggestion: get SS brake lines. 10.3'' rotors in my opinion are the perfect size brakes for our car. Even when racing the car on a track. I remember seeing the lap times from various brakes a guy had on his ef, the 10.3'' rotors beat the next set of brakes by 4 seconds.

EDIT: you can use type-r for front and back, but it that is basically a 5 lug conversion.

thanks very much. That last post was a great insight. But the last thing I am looking to find out is what should be done about Front to Rear proportioning, we can't run rear drum valves on a rear drum set-ups.

Out of what ever car you salvaged your rear brake sytem out of you'll need to try and see if you can get the factory porportioning valve out of it. Thats the block all the lines from the master clynder go to before splitting up to the individual brake components. other wise you'll have to fork out for an after market one you can add in line.......
