Error PE-O or P-EO on a stock 97 Prelude system?
Do you guys know what this error message means? This message gets displayed after I put in a CD, the CD then gets ejected after a few seconds...Thanks in advance!!
we had the same problem on a 99 SH.. after going through 2 decks (under warranty) i finally said forget it.. and went w/ an aftermarket deck..
after the stock replacements (under warranty) not long after the stock replacement did the same thing.. P-E0 error.. then spit the cd back out.. i tried using those cd cleaner discs, i tried burned CDs, store purchased cd's, nothing..
the dealer replaced the deck and it did the same thing a few months later..
after going thru 3 head units.. i finally went w/ an aftermarket unit for her car.. no problems since..
start shopping for a new head unit..
(sorry i worded it badly previously)

Thanks for your reply! I'm a little confused though. How would the after market CD Player still display the same error message? How is that possible? And what's the difference between a new CD Player and a new Head Unit? Aren't they the same thing? Thanks!!
Its not the CD player...its the CD's your playing..are you playing Burned CD's..if you are..there is no music on them..i had this problem too, but i had no music on them..
no what i mean is.. OK we bout the prelude brand new.. it came w/ the stock head unit.. it gave the P-E0 error.. so we took it in to get it replaced w/ another head unit (stock) under warranty.. not much longer that came up w/ the same error.. so we replaced it AGAIN under warranty.. and yet after a few months it broke again.. thats 3 factory head units..
the car is still under warranty.. but we gave up on taking it back over and over .. so no more stock head unit.. we replaced it w/ an aftermarket.. no more errors since..
it was not just burned cds.. i had cds i just purchased from the record store.. it would eject it back out w/ the PE0 error..
we replaced the factory unit (3rd one) w/ a new deck/head unit

Hype: I've tried both burned, and bought CDs. Same results...
GSR: Thanks for the tip. I guess I just have to buy a new CD Player than...Damn crappy OEM radio...

yeah her prelude is a 99 and it went through 3 head units (the one it came w/ when purchased brand new, and 2 replaced under warranty).. it took like 1/2 the day for them to replace them under warranty.. so we just got fed up w/ the long wait at the dealer, and it breaking on us..
she got a Clarion 9575 i think.. or maybe its 9755? i forget.. its worked great since..
