how to get head rotor off distributor?
do u mean the cap or teh rotor button? if the cap its 2 screws/bolts. if its the button u may have o roll the car over till u can see but there is a place to remove it with an allan key i belive
The cap is held onto the distributor via 3 8mm bolts with philips head. You can opt to remove the distributor cap with a 8mm socket and extention or use a philips screwdriver. Once you remove th cap, you'll have acess to the distributor rotor. The rotor is hold on by a philips screw.

yep, u will hae to turn the engine over tho to get the screw to face the right direction. the screw is on the exact opposite side of the metal head on the rotor. i just turned my car over at intervals to get it to the point of the screw bein in the right place.

IMO, i think its the easiest just to flick the key to the start position in quick intervals till the rotor screw comes into sight...but thats only in my opinion

Well, if you dont have a helper with you or the space to do it you dont have a choice anyway. I just found it much more precise to do it the way i described above. Note this was on an EF Civic but it looks like the distributers are basically in the same position. I tried the the turn-over method and had issues getting my screwdriver in there....but i didn't unplug the electronics inside either. That could have been the problem.
