Is it possible to monitor your engine's sensors on an LCD screen
I have an 89 CRX with a turbo and want to add gauges to it but don't like the look of pillar mounts. Do I have other options. I would like to have one screen that would display everything I needed. Is there anything like this out there???
Get hondata S200 you can use the datalogging feature to do it.
I perfer to watch my datalog gauges than my 2" gauges when I have my laptop in my car.

you can use your laptop or if you have aem there is a company that makes a system that montors all like a/f egt speed and so on. I think it monitors 16 different things.
I don't think you can do what you want with neptune considering you can not buy the software.

THE EMS one is here:

You can set it up to monitor anything you want and display it however you want. I just bought one for my EMS and it looks pretty nice, but I haven't got it hooked up yet.

You would have to route the signal from your laptop VGA plug into your monitor only if your monitor has a VGA input plug.

Run a computer in your car, hook the video output to your indash TV, done.

yeah man of course it could be done... a guy I knew that competed in IASCA (2nd place in finals) did a touch screen in dash that monitored all sensors. it also controlled motorizations in the car. it was all done on a PLC instead of a reg computer.
easiest way IMO is to use make a laptop dockstation (under seat or in trunk) have a dash monitor connected to that, wireless mini keyboard... I'm sure there's programs out there that can pick sensor data from you ECU so you can have some simple program to display the data.
I've installed a full computer in my old civic in college so thats how I know it could be done... try to stay away from using window's operating system if possible
send me a PM if your really interested in doing this project, I can help you with technical details such as data transfer, GUIs, basic signal conditioning circuits, etc...

if you're not running Neptune,Hondata, etc... you can use http://www.ecucontrol.com
wire up a Nokia data cable to your ecu and connect it via USB to your laptop.
well another thing would be to use a STACKS racing cluster. but thats BIG MONEY.

OK. Neptune has a datalogging feature. With the right software on my laptop I should be able to monitor my sensors?

neptune offers a datalogger... your tuner should have given it to you

Hondata has a Palm Logger application for S200 w/data logging. I used it to see it work once with my Palm 515. Seems like you could mount a cheap Palm device in the dash and even have a cool touch screen calculator with addresses at the same time!

PLC? We installed a windows based computer in my Brothers car, we were going to do it on mine but I dont know if Im keeping it so we put it in his instead. 7" touchscreen LCD in the dash, comp mounted in trunk. AMD 3000+ chip, 2 gigs of ram, 250 gig hard drive, several cooling fans, works like a champ. We have a bluetooth card in it and threw a cheap router in the garage so he can pull it into his garage and we can transfer MP3's, movies, etc, to the computer through the network, its pretty slick.

plug it into anything with a voltage and make your own gauges. (download the software - you'll see)
i'm interested to see what other people think of this.. I've come close to pulling out the credit card on several occasions..

the defi-link system with heads up display is ur answer. It is offered by a sponsor, it'll do whatever you want boost egt rpm mph/kmph. To make all of it work you need the complete defi-link system and controll system and sensors, and will project onto your windsheild, a sponsor is selling it. It is pretty badass and will do a multitude of thing and keep it all in front. the basic is cheap, everything will run @600 or so for all. Look it up in the sponsors performance section. i'll link ya if i find it again
