Default new Headgasket... leak not as bad

a week ago i changed the headgasket thinking it blew causing the coolant to get into the system, but it wasnt it. the day the new gasket went on, i was still getting a good amount of white smoke out the exhaust. along with that, when i first noticed this problem i was filling the radiator with 4pts of water each day. since the HG change it visually smokes alot less and im only needing half the water i used to.

after driving with a new HG does it start to form a little to the head? possibly i had a slightly warped head but the new gasket is sealing better than the old stock one did. any chances of that or is there another reason why isnt not smoking as much?

i would assume that if the leak was coming from a cracked cylinder, the leak would only get worse, not better. and a new headgasket definetly wouldnt affect a cracked cylinder wall.
