Need Help!!! Changed Oil now car wont start?!?!
What's up guys! I need some serious help here.... I changed my oil/filter yesterday and also was installing a cheapo CAI that I got from Ebay while waiting for the oil to drain out. When everything was done, I unplugged the battery from the car for about 20min while making sure oil/filter was in and adding oil etc...
Then when everything was tightened up I tried firing up my car and there was nothing? I mean nothing! I made sure the battery connection was good and secured no loose end. I noticed during starting the car I would put the key to ACC prior to crankin and all lights would come on to the dash so I know the battery is good. But the moment I crank the ignition I just hear a "click" and everything is dead like the battery has no juice? WTF???
Only thing I can remember happening was during the CAI install I accidnetally dropped my wrench while tightening the battery into the CAI tube (Metal body) and it sparked... nothing too big just a spark nonetheless and after that I could not start the car anymore!!!
Can that be the problem, you guys think I fried something like my distributor or coil or something? I've swapped battery with another vehicle I know is good and during the initial ACC test it lights all my gauges but after cranking the battery dies???
Any ideas???
Thanks.

This is precisely why you tighted the ground (black negative post) LAST, and loosen it FIRST. Same goes for jumper cables.
I would start by checking the fuses (under the hood and under the dash). But that click sound makes me think you fried your starter sylenoid (sp?). [If it is a stick try to push start it] Make sure you have a good connection to the battery and everything else, no corrosion and the like.
I can almost guarantee you your problem is electrical and not related to your oil change or the intake. You probably just shorted something out.

Guess what man.. when u discharge ur battery dunno if u make + and - touch, if it so, ur fuse is burned, just need to replace the fuse and everything would be find....that all i know ... it happened to me once hehehhe.

to reset the ecu?
to reset the ecu?
Classic:
1) Bad connection somewhere. Somewhere in your wiring loom is a rotted out connection.
OR
2) Your battery finally gave up the ghost.
Both situations would give "i insert my key........i see lights in my dash....i'm turning my key.......i see a dead dash". If you rule-out 1), test out 2) with a friends battery before you go dashing off to walmart for a new one.

Thanks Guys for all the replies..... Fixed the problem.
1st off - I've checked all fuses/main fuses and everything was good.
2nd - Swapped with 2 different batteries from different vehicles off which one was from my truck with a higher amperage rating and did the same thing as the other
battery. Meaning the moment I've inserted my key and turned to ACC everything in my dash lights up and crank it to start you hear a click and everything goes dead!!!
I mean after the initial click sound try to carnk it and I get nothing like the battery was flat dead.
3rd - Finally my dad had an idea of running a series with two (2) batteries together and see if I can give it more juice and just test out the starter. The moment we did this I was able to crank it out and car finally started???
We left the car running for a while to charge up the battery again and we turned off the motor. We cranked it on for the second and third time of which it's only being ran by one (1) battery on the car and each time she fired right up on the first crank?!?! So my dad thinks somehow whe I shorted out the battery it managed to get the starter crank stuck and it took two (2) batteries to fully get it back??? Dunno if this make sense but either way I'm just happy to get my car back running again and to think I was getting ready to buy a whole new distributor or coil I wasnt looking to spending close to $500....
Thanks everyone!!!
