Default Another type of lock for your car

So this is a lock i picked up in england a long time ago. The tube slipd over the e-brake and the open end goes over the shifter and locks. This lock the e-brake on and the car in 3rd. Now the down fall is if you remove the shift **** then you can slide the lock off. I am going to weld a little piece of sheet metal on both sides, on one side i will weld a little cover. That way you cant remove the ****.

Now I know this is not perfect. I am sure the lock can be picked, or can be cut off. But it is just one more thing to slow someone down.

I have not been able to find this in the US or on any websites, and I am going to guess i got it about 10yrs ago. I remember they had a ton of different models to fit different cars. I was luckey as i guessed what honda to get it for and it worked on my DA and now on my DC. If anyone wants i can take a picture of it installed this weekend.

That looks cool... the more the better! Lock the shifter, e-brake, clutch pedals, brake pedals, etc, just makes it that much harder.

How does this work on hills? Can you use it even when the e-brake is fully pulled?

Hidden fuel cutoff switches

They work best

hell yeah, most e-thugs talk trash about that, but they really dont know how to do it right (get that ish in 5th and club it under the bend, and even then you cant angle the club upward because the armrest is in the way).

switch it around, so the keyhole faces the other way, and the arm of the club is over the armrest. oh yeah, i put it 5th because it'll be harder to get into reverse...
but yeah this is only a temporary delay and deterrent.

Too bad that wont stop a tow truck. Just gotta rely on some tilt sensors.

another good part is that with the keyhole facing toward the seat way down out of the way it will be harder to pick than it would just sitting right there on the steering wheel facing the driver..

I'm sold, I'll be doing this from now on.

Yes it has an ablge built into it so it works only when the e-brake is funny on.

I actaully do like the club idea also.

Now i am really glad i startewd this thread as I had never seen or heard of the club idea.!!!! Nice work DC2!!

And yes a tow truck will still own any car with any amount of security. But at least ideas like these will help stop the local crack head stealing you car and going for the next crack hit

sounds good/funny but did you know a thief can sue you. You have to have a warning somewhere that can be seen. Talk about fucked up, but I read about it in the paper. Like a guy that is in side your home at night, you have the right to shot and ask questions later, but if he stumbles outside and dies out there, you can get busted. If he makes it outside then you blast him then you're really fucked. I don't think like this. I'd blast any thief day or night, inside or outside, conspiring or acting.

BTW yes thanks for making this thread, i have never heard nor seen the the club used in this fashion and think its a good deterent.

Look close at my shifter, it's called the multi lock and it was welded to the chassis.

ok, here's my attempt at debunking the club idea (and I hope I'm wrong )

you're pulling on it wrong. straddle the center console with one foot on the passenger side, and one foot on the driver side, then with both arms yank upward, on the part closet to the shift lever, with thief adrenaline induced gorilla force....and I bet that **** slides up since the shift lever is not hooked toward the e-brake, but infact angled away from the ebrake.

try it and let me know, cause I don't want to break anything on my teg

I dont know if the yank theory will work. If the club is low enough then it will be down in the bend. even though it is in 5th the club would have to slide back and up.

The only thing that will help the thief is if the boot aloows the club to slide.
