Is it possible to fix broken gauge cluster? - more inside
I have a eg si cluster witha busted speedo and tach. The tach is reading about 2500 rpms too high and the speedo is about 15mph 2 fast. I tried moving the needles back a few inches but that didnt help at all. My friend had the cluster before me and tried to install ricey white face gauges and took the needles off during the install
anyone experienced a similar problem like this and have some input?
Any help is greatly appreciated thanks
o and i've searched already and found nothing

the ricer gauges have been removed and the cluster is back to stock, I'm putting it my cx hatch for the tach and would rather fix this one then shell out the cash for another one.

It can be fixed you just have to calibrate the needles.
For the speedo, take off the clear cover, drive next to a friend and tell him to line up with you and go 60mph when you're both doing 60mph (he has to tell you) go ahead and stick the needle in pointing at 60mph.
For the gas fill up your tank and with the car off place the needle on empty. Turn on the car and needle should go all the way to full by the time the car is warmed up.
For the other two (temp and RPM) you're gonna need a good cluster to know what your car is doing. Put in a friends cluster and let the car warm up, record what rpm and what temp the car works at when it's already warm.
Plug in your broken cluster, let the car warm up and stick the temp needle to the place the temp needle at the same place your friend's cluster was reading. And then stick the RPM needle @ whatever rpms you car was working at when you used the test cluster.
Calibrated!
BTW: If he took off all the needles I'm sure they're all out of wack, but you only notice the speed and RPMS, so just do them all..

I am thinking that if you turn the car on with the cluster plugged in shouldn't the speedo be at zero? Then you can just plug the needle on there at zero. Maybe I'm wrong. I know someone on here said he did it that way when he had to roll back the odo
