Another paint questions. "i have primer on - before base coat should i........"
Ok here it thus far.
I am wetsanding it again now, since i have all dents/dings filled. It has 4 coats of primer. I wet sanded between each coat. With 600 grit.
I am wanting to make sure it is good enough before i start applying the good ****.
It is pretty smooth after wetsanding. It is smooth as a babies butt to the touch of my hand but i can see very very tiny pits almost. I will take newer pictures but i don't think the camera will show them.
Remember...first paint job!
Any good online shops to purchase paint?

This was very first coat. Now you can see no red....anywhere.

Thanks.
Its was alot of work to get the body straight. Then wet-sanding (by hand) sucked ***.
I am sure it will pay off once i spray it.

why did you wet sand between each coat? thats unecessary and extra work. do your body work, prime the body work area or the whole car, do a guide coat, if there are still waves or dents repair them and prime those spots, once your satisfied wet sand the whole car with 400-600 grit or dry on a da with 800, throughly wash the car, mask it, go over it with wax grease remover, tack it, shoot your sealer, then your base, then clear.

Well....Thank you but its a little late now.
My fingers are healing...lol. Wetsanding door jambs and such is a ****!!
How about wetsanding after base? I did the car with 400 followed by 600 on final primer coat. Should i hit it with 600 after base....i want some "depth" to my finish. I don't just want a painted car....Know what i mean?

you don't wanna sand your base if its metallic unless your gonna spray another coat of base before clearing. if you base didn't lay out smooth you can wetsand it with 600 and then clear it for solid colors but like i said if it's metallic you have to lay another coat of base before clearing. there really is no need for sanding your sealer or base unless you messed up. also if you messed up on the sealer you have to shoot another coat of sealer after sanding before shooting your base or you may see 600 grit scratches in the base. if everything lays out smooth you should go from sealer to base to clear with any sanding.
