Default Prelude Type R, need help convincing idiot there is no such thing

allrighty heres the deal. some idiot on a prelude forum im on, says he has a type r prelude.

and he says he got this info from a honda dealership in oregon: Well as far as the block code I admit i was wrong they showed me where it was and it reads H23c5.

Apparently Honda released Type R Preludes in the last quater in 1991 they are built In japan and imported. The first batch that were sent were manual-auto's just to test the market. Just like when the first electron blue 2001 Preludes..when they were released they were all auto till the second half of 2001 then the 5 speeds were released. The Sales were slow they only sold 113 of them about of the 500 imported that quarter so they discountinued the Type R after only 4 months of availbility.

The Specs on my engine they told me were:
225hp @ 8,200RPM
167 torque @ 7,000RPM
Compression is 11.2:1

From that the guy at the dealship told me stock it should run mid 14's but w/ the mods i have low 14's maybe even high 13's.

My car also comes w/ a LSD tranny..."

so please help me to shut this guy up by proving there wasn't a type r lude

can we have forum name? Seriously, this will be worth a laugh. I love the painted white sides and front lip. The whale tail sets it all off right with the type R stuff... Man, where can I get one? Auto...

haha h23c5....

tell him that any motor made in japan will come without any number after the last letter..

secondly, look at the center console, that is a 93 console, not a 92 style (91 date mfd).....

thirdly, i would love to see an engine that peaks torque at 7000 rpm.....

cool door inserts

that car is the epitamy of gayness....

H23s usually only rev to 6500 anyway...so he's making his peak power and torque outside of his redline? That makes sense.

there was never a type-r. there was an SIR-G, which is not a "type R".

also, i'm not sure what they did to that h23 to get it to have 225 bhp, but something tells me it'll take more than 11.2:1 cr.

haha, honda making a Type-R auto?

As we all know "Type R" refers to "Type Rice", so i am going to have to agree with the guy on this one, yes that is a "Type R".
