Default CRX engine swaps

i have a few ?? about swaps. 1st off, should i go with the b16a1 engine or do u think the d15 vtech is not to far off in power? basically wat i mean is is the b16 worth the extra $1200.?

also i was looking into ZC dohc gen 2 swaps.. 133hp vtech? it says it comes with..
YOUR JDM ZC SWAP INCLUDES

» Jdm motor
» Jdm transmission
» Distributor
» Complete Intake Manifold
» Alternator
» A/C Power Steering Pump
» All Brackets and Sensors

what else would i need to buy to get the complete swap for a 89 crx?

its only 750 with tranny soo im tihnking maybe thats better then the b16?
or if anyone knows a better swap todo let me know. im looking for a good price but ide rather spend a little more if the speed will make a difference. THANKS

no ecu? i don't think zc's had vtec.

if you're thinking d15b vtec, why not just get a d16z6 head or a y8 head, i mean they're vtec and already here in america. that means it costs less for you to get (don't have to order it from a different company) and its easier for parts. imagine yourself in a parts store (parts stores are much better than tuner shops because tuner shops rape people with prices) saying "yes, i'd like 2 stock replacement fuel injectors for a japanese domestic market 1.5 liter vtec engine..." its easier to say "yes, i'd like 2 fuel injectors for a 93 civic EX." I know that parts switch over, but still. why join the jdm fad if the product isn't any better?

the b16's a fun motor, but its still pretty torqueless and to get it you need mounts, linkage, etc. i'd love to have one but could never let myself waste that much money on one.

and, i realize i didn't tell you what engine to get. that should be entirely up to you. i just gave you a little more knowlege.

What's the BEST engine for my Honda?

Answer:
125cc Honda dirt bike motor. It weighs under 50lbs, revs to 10000rpms, and makes 320hp/liter.

There, now that we solved the question that is constantly on everyone's mind, let's talk about pizza.

Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!

If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.
Edited for the Whiners:
This is NOT a complete list, as there are mini-mes, LS-VTEC swaps, budget/poor man's ITRs, etc. Use the damn search button a bit more religiously.

What's the best engine for boost... the one that gets TUNED properly.
What's the best engine for drag racing... the one you spend the most money on making FAST.
What's the best engine for road racing... same thing.
What's the most reliable engine... the one you MAINTAIN religiously.
What's the cheapest engine... the one that's in your car.

There, hopefully when searched, this thread will pull up so people will stop making threads about stupid crap like "what's the difference between a GSR and a B18C5"...the oil caps. </TD></TR></TABLE>

yeah thats a good point. plus i already have a aem cold air, and headers. if i got B series i need all new stuff. in order to do the vtech conversion on my 89 SI engine what do i need? and how much of a noticable difference will it make.

i need a engine fast enough to beat my friends 92 lude si with heads, intake and a exhaust, and some other minor stuff done to it. and i also need to beat a 92 teg with the same stuff done to it. will a z6 do that?
