Could it be the end of Kumho competition tires?

Sounds like it depends on which divisions are losing money. You never know... the competition tires could be one of the only things they're making money on... in which case they could expand the market...

I really hope Kumho survives. Or else STS and STX are going to be increadibly popular. I'll do my part. I'm buying Kumho street tires soon.
I could understand they are losing money.. their name is EVERYWHERE is grassroots motorsports. (if they pay for that advertising)
I was just going to try some too... shoot.. Ill even get some for street too...

I hope the competition tire program remains, it seems the little guys are startig to push the industry.
Kuhmo is making good tires and has bee, and because of their competition tires I looked at their street tires - and what a value they are!
Now we have Falken entering the game and their prices and tire offerings are looking rather attractive.

"Kumho Group companies include the nation's number two carrier, Asiana Airlines ."
Please every US airline carrier is in the poo pooer too. Even since 9-11 all airliners are taking a hit. With the recent success of Kumho in SCCA someone will buy them to take control or strenghten their current share of that market segment. If not ya'll better stock up on the V700s now.
