a buddy of mine has a 2K JDM ITR motor, im looking for the answer to 3 questions:

a) what size is the intake manifold opening? (tb=62mm)

b) how big can the ITR tb and IM be bored to?

c) what size should he be looking to bore both TB and IM to?

a) not sure of IM opening
b) most people do a taper bore from 70mm at the opening to 65mm at the plate
c) 62mm if the motor is stock

 

the ITR tb is 62mm all the way through?

also, whats the purpose of having like a 70mm tapered down to a 65mm? isnt that bottle necking where a 65mm all the way through would be the same?


and right now,its pretty much stock, but plans for building are in the future:
- 2.5" piping with t1R axle back
- AEM CAI
- JDM 4-1 header (soon to be replaced with DTR, possibly Hytech)
- fuel pump, regulator
- dyno tuned on p28

no, not 62mm all the way thru

the tapering aids in throttle respose

with those minor mods, stay at 62mm

 

ok, i only ask because he is taking off the manifold to put on a Hondata gasket and thought it would be a good time

so the outter diameter is 62mm? whats the size of IM side?
