Default Tranny/Oil cooler?

Can an oil cooler be used as a tranny cooler? I want to use the inline oil filter to filter the ATF fluid. Is that possible?

yes you can, just be sure to flush out the residue oil and put a fresh filter on if it is been used previously.

I used an nice big oil cooler on the worked auto tranny of my old car, with very good results to note... tranny ran considerably cooler when the converter was slipping.
