i think it would be nice to have if you got extra money, but youll need to swap out your rear window (to save weight) in conjunction with c/f trunk, if you keep the stock glass window then the weight savings will not be significant, just my opinion

comparing the stock one to a cf one, you only saving 5 -10lbs if that. most of the weight if from the glass. so getting a lexan window will do you some good.

i swapped a better condition hatch onto my teg so i felt the weight of it while doing that, very heavy. If you go cf trunk definitely get the lexan window and you will knock off lots of lbs.

maybe its just my personal opinion...but I'd rather not. There will be those who will disagree with me when I say that there IS such a thing as "too much". Honestly...if I was going to get that, I'd also get the carbon fiber rear bumper, front bumper, fenders, hood, and if possible, have the rear quarter panels done, roof, outter pillers, doors....hell basically convert the entire outside over to CF. That way...at least I'm going all the way and not having huge spots of my car in cf. But that's just me. Its your money and your car. Do with it as you please

I can give an opinion on this since I have the CF hatch and FAL Lexan window. I did it for weight savings. My car is heavy w/ the sunroof and power everything. I'm trying to put my car on a diet so I opted for the CF hatch and FAL window. I paid 380 for my VIS hatch...not sure where you are shopping but check out Fat Boy Garage.

And yes the hatch w/out the glass is heavy on my car. The window is extremely heavy too. I'm not sure how much I saved (weight wise) but its a good amount.

I love the window. If you just clean it with a 100% cotton towel it won't scratch. I just clean it with an absorber and call it a day.

As for weight savings, it made a difference in the overall weight of the car. I recommend it for those who are looking to drop a lot of weight.

Looks great, saw it on an Integra around my way and I was really considering getting one also but once I saw the price range ($500) it became a easy choice not to get it. If it was much cheaper yeah, but $500 just for that?!?!? if I got spoiler holes to fill it, I can think of a much easier way of taking car of those holes. At the end of the day its your cash, it really shouldnt matter what we think, if you really want it, you'll get it anyway.

You should not...

You're going to kick yourself when you see that it doesn't fit perfectly...I have yet to see a carbon fiber product fit perfectly on any car. Grade A++ regardless.

You're going to hate it when the clear coat starts to fade in areas. You will literaly have to wax it (protect it) each time you wash.

You'll absolutely go crazy when you start getting cracks in the carbon fiber hatch because of sun/heat/stress damage.

You'll cry once you realize that you wasted $500 hard earned dollars that could have been spent somewhere else.

And...you most likely will come back to here complaining about how your carbon fiber hatch sucks...meanwhile, searching for a stock hatch to put back on to your car.

Have fun.

Notice...carbon fiber parts are pretty much a big waste of money...but that's only my humble opinion.
