Default Emergency Brake Stick Replace..... Need some sights (H2290)

bringing this thread back from the grave.

my grandfather's friend broke the emergency brake on my 96 accord (5 speed), and i'm wondering if i need to buy a new emergency brake handle. the handle itself is fine, but when i screw it in, the emergency break does not catch. i can pull and push the handle easily, but the main problem is that it will not catch and basically does not work.

should i buy a new handle or can this be fixed? its an (ebay i think) 'obx carbon fiber' handle if anyone wants to know.

also, i tried looking up ebrake handles on ebay, but i didnt see any for 5th generation accords. can i use newer or older handles?

thanks
