Default Help Me Make This decision Please,

Please, If you read... reply.

Hey whats up,

I Need your guys comments/advise/help on making this very very important decision,

Choices

Keep my 87 integra ls
Sell the 87 ls and get a 94+ integra

I have been thinking very hard on either kepping my 87 integra and importing motor going turbo and all, I have/Had big plans for the old school 1st gen,
Or saving up the couple grand I was going to spend on the 87 and buy a 94+ integra,

If I am going to keep my 87 ls, I have lots and lots of work ahead of me
body,Paint, trim, I mean the list goes on and on,
Where as, I could spend that money on a nice 94+ integra, Import a motor and turbo

I'm having trouble deciding,
I love the 1st gen integra, I'm proud to drive the gen that started all of this,
I enjoy saying my car is 18 years old, has 230K+ miles and still runs like a champ
I can take my 87 ls, 230K mile motor to 6K everyday and she still runs strong

On the other hand, she only makes 40Hp @3K RPM, lol
I chirp second gear always, if shifting at 3K RPM.
I mean its a great a car

Now on the other hand,
I would love to own a 94+ ,
I am saying 94+ becuase I just want to own a 3rd gen,
My aunt owns a 2000 ls, black, and she just paid it off.
It is stock but looks just great.

Wingless, it's soooooo hot!

I mean, parts are o so much easier to get/buy for a 3rd gen than a 1st gen.
i spend most of my time in junkyards looking for old parts for my 87 ls,

BWT: Just found a rare Rear Sway bar at a junkyard, $11

The 3rd gen integra looks so hot,
and are just overall a great car.
They are commen tho, I enjoy being diffrent

So, What I'm asking is for your comments on what you think I should do.
Not what I should do, but what would you do.
I know you cant make the choice for me, but I'm looking for advise,

ya know something to sway me one way or the other.

So, Here is what I want to know.

Why should I buy a 3rd gen.
Why should I keep my 1st gen.
Why should I go one way and not the other.

All commwnts welcome.

Thanks, Later

here are a couple pics od my crappy 87 ls,

and what my car would look like dropped and with gsr swirlies

Found at a junyard, $11

Later

Also, Post pics of your 3rd gen, will prolly make me want one more.

Have you tried the "flip-a-coin" decision making method? A little crude, but it works.

Keep it. You're just going to regret it later. But, if you can't live with yourself and must have a 94+ teg, then go get one.

Get the 94 boy. The 87 might just turn into a huge money pot. Sooner or later you'll have a $20,000 car thats 20 years old. I'm sure you can sell the 87 to someone else and they'll love it. I cant imagine you gettin a 94 and not likin it as much if not more. it'll be a little bit of a transition but i bet u wont regret it. Sometimes you just gotta go for it and upgrade man. It took me forever to sell my first car. I never thought i would be but im so much happier with my new whip. I suggest you sell it now while you still can.

keep the 87 for a daily beater, and get a 94 to mod....

or get a g2....i think they look better than the g3's...cheaper...almost as much aftermarket support, but still tons more than the 87....

I think you should get a newer teg 94+ because it will be easier to get parts. The first gen is hard to get parts (exactly like you said). It is just going to get harder to get parts when the time comes because there are less and less that are going to be in the bone yard. It would be nice to have a first gen done up right and look good. You would be original in having that car.
Since you stated that you want to do all the other cosmetic work to the car, I personally don't think it would be worth it in the end. Like the other guy said, over 20 g's on a 20 year old car.
My question is: What motor are you going to have imported over? You should just rebuild what you have and turbo it instead of importing another motor.

So my final verdict...sell it and buy a 94+

I also agree with getting a Gen 2, that was my first integra that I had and I liked it's style more than my Gen 3 that I currently have. (unless I do a JDM front, I will like this one better )

I second the g2 thing, not just because I drive one but because they are cheaper and have basically the same motor as 3rd gen, and personally I think the front end looks 10x better.

Get a 94+ integra because there is a lot of stuff you can do to it and has a lot of options in selecting engines that have a direct fit, + they all come with a hydro tranny.

im a bit biased. i respect DAs but i dont know about 1st gens... but DCs are the sexiest integra. go with the new one.

I love the 1st gen tegs, and i will probably pick one up sooner or later, but honestly, If your going to seriousely mod a car the DA or DC would be better. They are easier to get parts for, handle better, have more aftermarket support, and if something happens and you need to sell it, they have better resale.

The cool thing about the 87 is that no one has them.. and they have that old-school honda charm. Like i said, i plan on getting one, and doing a few mods that are some-what period correct for the era the car was built in.. but its going to be because i like the car and not because i want to build the ever-loving bahjeebus out of it.

you'd prob save more money getting a 94+ teg since there are SOOOOO many more parts/aftermarket and stock! Plus, you can do soooo many things to the 94+ teg
