Default EP3 Dull taillights..Is it safe to wetsand????????????

I just picked up a used set of 02 tails for my ep..The tails are kind of dull and scratched. I picked up some Meguires PlastiX and it didn't really make that much of a difference..Question is can I went sand the tails with 1500 grit????

Thanks in advance!

Should be. You might want to try 2000 Grit after. The PlastiX didn't work for me the first time well either, but if you try it with 6 to 7 good applications you will see a big difference. BigblockEK's yellow stock 96 headlamps looked 10 times better then my 99's after he was done.

Well you can start with 1500 then 2000 and even 3000 if you wish. Use soaoy water. Then apply the plastix and reapply plastix until you see results. 3M also sells a plastic polish at paint supply stores, but the plastix should work fine.

I did my headlights a while ago, sanded them back, they went even duller, thought I stuffed them up, then I applied a clear coat which made them like NEW - stoked.

Im not sure if this applies with tails as well, cant see why not.

I used to just use 2000 wet and buff with the dewalt and some 3m rubbing compound just like the paint. This was on my plastic front headlights on an EF.
