Spoon Monoblock Calipers now available for DC2R
http://www.spoon.jp/jp/product...e=301
Spoon now offers a bracket so you can use the monoblock caliper previously only available for the S2k and DC5. More importantly, the use of the monoblock caliper lets you use 300mm S2k/DC5 rotors which are 26mm thick, and you'll need at least 16" rims. Who wants to be first to try?

its made for bigger rotors. i have been thinking about this for a while.
spoon monoblock, then use mugen rotors.(the one used for the active gate system) it would be kinda best of both worlds.

At that price point it would make a lot more sense to go with something that's been engineered to work together. Like a stoptech kit.

$725.70 per caliper eh? Are these calipers designed to utilize stock-pad sized brake pads also?

Yeah. If I had to go up on wheel size for a brake upgrade, I'd go Stoptech too.

.....so I could bling the **** out at all the car sh0wz, y0!
Already did it!!! Except its on my hatch. I used the s2k Spoon monoblocks with the Mugen rotors and it fits perfectly. Also by using the Mugen Active Gate rotors, you lose a little mass and hopefully gain some cooling and venting. Once I can get the rest of the car sorted out the car will be a track car. At the moment the manual rack is killing the car in the tight corners.
I've got pics in my camera ready to be uploaded for the haters
The calipers use the s2k pads and according to spoon the overall piston volume inside the calipers is either the same or smaller then the stock ITR caliper so there is no problem using the ITR master cylinder.
I'll admit this setup didn't really cost me a dime because its a friends parts, but there is no way I would ever spend that kind of cash especially when the stock ITR calipers/rotors, nice pads, and sticky tires are more then enough for a regular ITR let alone my 2200 pound hatchback.

Does anyone know the size of the pistons in the monoblocks? I think the twinblocks have one 38.x and a 42.x on each side. If I remember correctly the monoblocks weigh more than the twinblocks.
Ok I wasn't going to post any pics till more of the car was done, but here are a few. I will take better pics with the wheels off to show the Mugen Active Gate rotors. Current suspension is Spoon N1 and is stiff as *****.

Straight from japan. My buddy lives about a block away from Spoon and he goes to japan every few months, so he bought a set of used volks and those tires brand new and brought them back on the plane with him. The tires were more expesive then the rims from what he tells me. He is also the one that owns the suspension and brakes.

So how much? I want them but I'm afraid to know exactly how much they really are.
Will you be able to get another set?
