Default JDM ITR - 9.5KW Cold Air Intake Power Increase!

Hey guys, i thought id just share with you all my recent Dyno figures. Im dam DAM impressed with the power output of my R.
The lower line is completely stock, and the higher line is with my Custom cold air intake. The only Mod so far! (unless you include new plugs and leads (factory leads) and fuel filter)

The Figures in Yellow are the Stock figures, and the figures in Green are with the CAI. The lines should be a different colour also for easier comparison, but for some reason they both came out red

Let me know what you all think. Maybe throw up a couple of comparisons of your R's? Oh and for all you non KW peeps, thats 182.5HP ATW
I think im well on the way to my 200WHP goal

A custom one, IE home made.

As you see it dissapear there, it bends to the left (or the right if your sitting in the drivers seat)

nice peak hp, but the hp graph is a bit wobbly... maybe a fuel controller can fix it up

Need better pics of that intake.

But getting all that power from the intake is impressive

Did you do the dyno tests the same day?

What is that under the engine, a undertray?

Looks like an aem design with less obtrusive bends fits non-ac vehicles.

his has a/c..
just on the other (wrong?) side.

the lack of the a/c lines and the different abs makes the car look a bit funny under the hood.

no, if you look in between the header and the fans, you can see a purple reflective thingy, looks kind of like it could be an undertray, the Euro's can be quite creative and innovative.

Probably a grayish floor.
If there was an undertray there wouldn't have been as much light seen under the car. IMHO

You're so smart.

On a GM four-banger I used to have, I had header/cat/exhaust, bored throttle body, and stock intake. When I put a custom (crush bend exhaust pipe) intake on it I picked up like 15 WHP. It was ridiculous Shows what happens when you remove the bottleneck.

Anyhow, nice pickup!

Awesome mods. After reading some faqs on team-integra, i've learned a few requirements for a good intake, one of which is flow velocity.

When you have a CAI with some pretty sharp bends, air will tend to slow down, which reduces the air velocity. Anyways, from the look of it, the bends on his custom CAI look pretty smooth.

Now, only if you were to utilize the venturi (sp?) effect. somehow get a larger pipe and taper it down to the tb.

Thanks guys. Try to answer all the questions heh

Bbasso - Dyno tests were on different days, but the day with the intake was massively hotter. THe 1st one it was fairly cold and windy outside, with the CAI it was a few months later and blistering hot day

Freezy - Its just a pretty standard Simota Dry Filter. Cost me $45 NZD

Arsenal - As someone said, its the colour of the floor God knows why dad painted the garage floor white.grey, st00pid *** really haha

I tried to get the bends as smooth as possible while trying to eliminate as many bends *** possible at the same time, IE as straight as i could get it.
The only nast bend is down low next to the gearbox. Nothing i could do about it, but as it stands, it dont matter too much
Its a 3" pipe for all wondering too.

B2FiNiTY - just saw yours too, umm i got an aftermarket CAI to start with, it was in two pieces and did NOT fit at all. Was a piece of crap, so i got pissed off and ditched it. Same basic idea as it, but one piece of course, and less bendy.. also the aftermarket one was 2.5".
Its bolted to the toehook too.. two massive bolts on a bracket.. so that sucker and going nowhere if an amature pops the bonnet (hood) and tries to ****** it

Sorry it took so dam long.
This is the best i could do tonight, without jacking the front up and unscrewing some of the undertray to get a good look. But you get the idea. Its a bit spotted and dirty.. had some mad rain over the last few days
