head bolts
Don't do it, the factory headbolts are designed to be torqued once, and never reused (they stretch). I reused mine once and I ended up having to tear the head off again to replace them and the headgasket. Either buy some new oem ones, or buy arp studs (that can be reused). It's not worth the chance to have to do the process all over again because of a cut corner.
ARP or AEBS (not sure if they make them for d16's or not..) headstuds.
Cheap insurance for around $100, especially considering the fact that you can reuse them, and OEM ones go for ~$80

I called ARP (and then measured for myself). The Z6 studs work for A6 application. Y8 studs WILL NOT work with an A6.

I am almost 100% sure they stretch. When I was helping my friend rebuild his d16z6, he reused the head studs. The head gasket would not seal properly. We tried everything short of replacing the head studs. After picking up some new stock studs the head sealed up perfectly. If honda head studs didn't stretch none of the boosted d series people would be having problems with head lifting.

If its so. The USDM parts are diffrent than JDM and EDM. Because honda mechanics never heard that honda's bolts stretch. And i have done many head repairs and things. And always used same bolts. Even honda workshop manual say that they are not needed to replace.
