Default went to the track .... something is wrong!!!!

ok so i went the the track just so you understand i have a 00 b18b1 in a 94 civic dx...

First run was 16.258 w/ 2.65 60ft (i know this is horrible so dont point out the obvious also this is my first time ever running at all)

Second run was 16.019 w/ 2.54 60 ft times.. (same as above)

ok now everyone i asked said it sounded like i was shifting perfectly .... and the car didnt have much movement at all....
now my question is ... if timing was off or something liek that could that effect it also ... i have normal pressure in the tires (32 psi) so please someone who has an idea let me know ... but i also wanna know if timing is off would i get horrible gas mileage as well >????? please help

Let some pressure out..... how bad were you squealin the tires? Did you slip the clutch or just dump it?

i would let some air out the tires for 1 and i would try launching harder. find a good shift point and let it rip that car should easly run 15s so get on it. also take it to a dyno just to get it tuned right good luck and hope the your time drops

lets see ... no i didnt spin then ... just chirped i was launching pretty hard ... riding the clutch a lil to avoid wheel spin ..... ummm the miles per hour was like 87 or something liek that then 84 it was slow at **** ..... also the track i was at kinda sucks ... really slippery.....

With timing ... on this since its a 00 engine but and obd1 computer is the ingition timing automatically adjusted by the computer or Not ... someone let me know thanks

id sya jsut keep practicing and learn to drive better.
the trap speeds indicate power around 125 whp, which is about right for a 140 hp engine. If you can bring your 60 fts. down t a 2.2 that will put you at around a 15.7 which seems about right for that power level on that engine....

Maybe I just don't understand here... Your times aren't that much off from what I would expect this setup to run in your car. Its a high 15 second setup, maybe mid 15's at best. Your trap speed is where it needs to be, your 60's are a touch high. Bring those down and you have yourself a high 15... which again, is right on par.

the ecu will not mess up timing unless it's the ecu for the wrong motor. get a timing light and you will know if it's right or not. IMO, just cut your 60' times and you'll be dead on.

youjust ned to practice, get the 60 foots down to around 2.2-2.3 and you would be taking off around 1/2 a second, the rule of thumb is for every 1/10th you take off the 60' foot time it will take 2/10th's off your 1/4 mile time
