B16 block bad with GSR head?

B16 block bad with GSR head?
I have searched and it seems like no one has tried using a b16 block with a GSR head... my car burns alot of oil and compression is whack... I have a complete b16 block available... should i use this block in the mean time because I kan't afford the down time of having my GSR block at the machine shop and stuff... thanks guys for any input!
