the video with the integra that sounds like a harley
does anyone have the video where the integra sounds like a harley at idle? i believe it was NA and had some major cam upgrade.
for some idiotic reason, i woke up today telling myself, that i want my integra to sound like that. if i were to do it, wut kinda mods would i need to do? cams, cat, timing adjustment, and even a b20 block??
thanks

From: hittin corners so hard you can taste my rims..
was this car famous? people have seen it? or is it just a way to describe the way it idled?
myself, and a few of my friends have cars that barley idle, and its becuase the durations of the cam lobes. obviously with that size lift, and duration, you'll need an upgraded valve train.. or else you'll be slapping valves to pistons.
im just wondering if i missed something? a inline 4, that sounded like a harley?

yea i have seen the video. but it was like 2 years ago. i don't know if the car is famous. and it is an inline4... actually, i htink it might be a JDM type r engine.
I have a vid of my car at idle and it lopes like a muthafucker!
No Vtec here though!!!!!
All I have to say is high compression and big cams!

I'm sure there are, probably "vtec killer" cams that keep you "in vtec" the entire time, basically just giving you a more agressive cam profile.
My teg has b20+2.5" Full Exhaust w/ 3in. in/out muffler, and that's way to loud for me. If you threw cams or something more on there, it'd be loud as hell!

Sounds like mine!
Expect my idle still fluctuates.
I want to know how he ran a direct port 100 shot on those cams! It seems almost pointless, b/c cams that large will just blow the N20 right through it yielding lil effect, IMO! I'd like to know though and I might consider putting my N20 kit back on!

hybrid im shocked that you havent figured that 1 out yet, Adjust the cam gears so u have less valve overlap and BOOM!!!!!!!! Big Gains

vtec = dual cam profiling
vtec killers get rid of the vtec lobe so there is no vtec with thouse cams they dont keep you in vtec all the time

thanks for the video guys.. its not the video i had previous seen, but these are just as great if not better.
after reading up vtec killer.. i assume its for used in non-vtec motor? i dun see why anyone would put these into a vtec motor when the rocker arms can be used to stay in vtec. am i correct?

Like I said I have been tuned and I do not plan to change my cam gear settings. I am hoping when I go with either uberdata or crome, that I can work it out!

its a crx and you have to have like stage 5 cams to get that kinda idle. search for itbs and it should come up as 2.0 vtec on itbs or somethin like that.

wow, so please remind me. i thought VTEC gave you like 100whp? i thought VTEC was the only way to go fast. harumph. i guess VTEC sucks then if the REAL boys kill it.

Well technically your cams would be profiled to the more aggressive side, almost the same if not more aggressive then the "vtec" profile. That's all I was trying to get at, I'm sorry I didn't put it in a more understandable way.

You can use these in a vtec motor to remove the vtec, therefore only having one cam profile instead of two.

I'm not sure if this is directed at me or just a general sarcastic statement toward vtec itself. I just wanted to make the point that they do make cams for vtec motors, and in that I wanted to include the fact that they make cams that will remove the vtec profiling of the motor. I'm sorry if I presented this information in a manner that didn't make sense, I've never personally installed cams and only go off of what I've learned/read.

I dont understand why people just dont adjust their idle to be higher, so that it doesnt go ridiculously low like in the videos.

mine is set at 1200, but it still flucuates down to 800 and back up to 1200; and occasionally it drop to 600 sounding like is going to cut off!

no, i was just poking fun at all the people who think a non-VTEC can't beat their VTEC setup.

get your maintenance done, man. sounds like a PCV valve or intake vacuum leak to me. my idle is rock solid, even with large cams.
