Experience with Traction Bars (wheelie bars)
Just wondering if anyone has some experience with what is a good height to start with when tuning the car at the track? rear coilover is a strange enginnering 7 way adj, with 450lb springs any info will be appreciated!
yea i guess the 450lb springs maybe to hard? the bars dont even seem to hit form launch. do the wheels on the bars touch the track the whole time? and what height do they need to be run?
correct me if im wrong but i thought that the "Wheelie bars" were for pre loading the front suspension to help elininate weight transfer by removing a slight amount of weight off the rear tires and loading that weight on the front tires
let me know im just a stoopid street racer

I think NHRA regulation is 1 inch off the ground , but I seen it touch the ground on most accassion . I run mine 1 inch to 1/2 inch off the ground .
Yes and that does keep the wieght transfer off the back .

i had originally set the height at 1/2" . The first run the wheel got destroyed, thery were the roller bearing wheel with the rubber tread, since then i have switched to a roller bearing plastic wheel, made 5 passes and they arent showing any wear! currently the bars are 1.250 off the track, they didnt seem to actually hit? i guess that is why i only went 1.71 in the 60 ft

nobody runs them that high.... also they need to be stiff.... use them to pick up the back end of the car, if they bend a lot thats bad. Make sure the wheels are square with the rear of the car... the "wheeleze" orange wheels are the best, 145 but worth it.
