i feel your pain.. but with some parts, and alittle effort, it sounds like it could be driven again. wheels, and and exhaust, and your back in business.. just be glad they didn't drive it into a ditch, or a wall, and light it on fire or something.

well at least it was only a can that was stolen not a whole exhaust, just put an intake and its still pretty drivable till the insurace come thru..... hopefully, sorry to hear the bad news tho, hope it all works out for yoour bro in law.
