Gearing Question
Hello all,
I'm a newb here,
Bought a 91 si hatch about a month ago.
The previous owners used to take this car to the track, how often.. ?? i dont know.
They claim it's a usual 15sec. car. It was abused and raped.. I can tell because interior parts/carpet are mismatched/colored. Looks like it was gutted.
-The motor is Stock trim D16. As far as what's inside, I dont know.
-Ac, Power steering have been thrown out.
-6puck clutch.
My question is:
At 5th gear, 3,000RPM what speed are you supposed to be travelling?
Please excuse the lame question, this is my first Hatch, so I am not familiar.
I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to find out the mods that have been done to this car, so i can better take care of it.
I would like to rescue this beater, I will post up a pic.. it's been abused i tell ya. I shed a tear when I saw it.
Peace.

I haven't had a D series in a while, but I would guess at 3000 rpm, around 50-60 mph? Yeah, they're geared pretty steep.
Welcome to Honda Tech. It looks like you have quite a task ahead, restoring that car to decent condition. Good luck.
