Default Trip Odometer stuck at 000

Okay, so the other day when I filled up as usual I pushed the trip odometer reset thing, and as usual it took some jiggling and hard pushing to reset, and ever since it's been stuck at 000. It starts to roll up as if it's going to move to 1, but then it clicks back down. The odometer still works fine, but the trip keeps almost going to 001 then resets to 000.
I know it's illegal to screw with the odometer, but what about the trip? Any easy way to fix this?

Mine kinda did this after fillin up once. Although it's never been difficult to depress the button. It got up to 8-9 miles then started making a clicking noise, so I reset it a couple times, banged onthe gauge cluster protector/plastic thing and top of guage cluster, and it fixed itself... soory.

Mine works intermittenly as well. It hasn't bothered me enough to do anything about it though.

Way to fix things, just bang on it till it works. Thing is, you're going to have to replace the odo and trip more than likely. Had to do the same on my 94 accord when the speedo stopped working, it was one unit, as they work together. I don't know why it would be illegal to do, though (as long as you document the mileage that you did it at)... Then again, I live in NC. The laws may be different here. gl, anyway!
