Hey guys - I know these, "What should I do" posts get pretty old...but I guess I just need a little guidance. I am new to suspension set-ups and have been doing some research but with little money I wanted to do this in a stage process. (FYI - my last suspension set-up was cut springs
- i would like the set-up on this CRX to be better than that ****)
This is a street car that will be doing occasional autoXing. I want a drop but want the clearance if I get some 15's or 16's (don't think much will be a problem). Ok here's what I am thinking...
H&R Springs w/ Tokico Illuminas shocks - This seems to be a pretty good set-up for a CRX - expecting about $400 total
L-Con traction or Jim Fab bar - expecting about $300 ...I know there are a couple "What is the best traction bar" posts so I'm gonna go over them again as well as check out their sites.
I would like to keep these expenses minimal but also want a good ride to work and around town as well as on the track. Handling is #1...comfort #2 (maybe #1.5
). Whatever I get first, it will be at least a month before I get the other. If you guys can think of a better/cheaper set-up as well as what you think should come first, feel free to throw in some opinions.
As always...Thanks!

If you can afford them go for the koni yellows with your choice of spring. IMO the konis are the best off the shelf shock/strut around.

Hmm just get some nice progressive rate springs matched to some Koni Yellows. GC coils ride kinda rough for daily driving (thats the stock setting from GC for CRX's) But you kind of get used to it.
For comfort, GR2's (or agx all around) and some Tein S-techs for a nice ride.
For handling, go with some GC's and Koni Yellow (Sports, external adjustables are the best).

Will keep my eye out for some of those. The yellows are going for about $250 on ebay so maybe I will try that with some H&R's. The red's are going for about $100 cheaper...is this just because they are standard adjustable and not externeal adjustable? They prob aren't as aggressive either I'm assuming.
Do you think I should go with spring/shocks first or the traction bar?

I rock the Koni Yellows with H&R combo. I love it. Im considereing changing though just cause its an old set up and has been abused for a some years now. Ive heard nothing but good things about the Omnipowers. You might want to look into that. I would go with the springs strut/shock's first.
