hey, my knowledge on this subject is limited as i have a naturally aspirated D17A2, but in my opinion either the B18C5, which if im not mistaken comes from and SI, OR if you would like a newer, and more potent option, a K20 from the RSX-S, that would be amazing. start off with 200 some off HP and turbo from there, granted its expensive, but if I had the funding, thats the way I would go. Good luck man, and keep posting, and to all you other guys (the ones who had sarcastic responses) please keep them to yourselves, this forum prides itself on being helpful and not insulting people, have a great day guys! check out my latest thread, im selling some OEM parts.

Turboing, or any forced induction for that matter on a B18c5 is not the best idea. They are come stock with an extremely high compression ratio and adding more air to that is just asking for trouble. (if the block and head aren't built properly)

Just search. It's not hard and you it will broaden your options.

Yeah your knowledge is very limited.

wow... if only the b18c5 came in the SI... start small... sounds like you need to learn quite a bit, so stick with a single cam vtec. turbo that, and you'd most likely be happy with it. once you've got that down, i'm sure you'll know by then which of the above suites you best.

buy an ls engine and turbo that code is b18b1 you will get the best results w/o having to do major changes internally since this already comes with low compression

Your answer has arrivedddd. Get a B20b block and a b16 head with a type R tranny. The best is the 2.0 liter B20vtec. It has to be built right. The torque will give you whiplash. The dyno is sick without the turbo. At 3,000 rpm, it is already putting around 150 torque. My friend built one with a MAD b16 head and was running over 600hp. Chillin around 12,000 rpms. Chillin. --------Plus!!! B20b or B20z block are cheap. B16 head not too bad. Put 4000 into this engine and you'll be happy. B18C5 N/A vs. B20Vtec (Crvtec)N/A-- Type R won't be able to touch the CRV motor naturally aspirated. That's funny. FRANKENSTEIN ENGINES RULE!

You sir, are BEYOND retarded. Spoon engines are built to rev to 10,000 rpm MAX and that is REALLY high. 12,000 rpm on a 2 liter? Horseshit. 150 at 3,000, dude, the only engine that makes more torque than that is the k20 and h22 (not by much might I add), and that is PEAK torque. I've been in a teg with a CRVTEC professionally built and it did have great torque, but you make it sound like its some v8 with a supercharger. STFU. I bet he was running some KMART hamster in a wheel.

I agreed with you (SOHClife 96).

I've built an all motor 12.5:1 c/r and the motor is only putting out 210hp and 150 torque. Its hard to believe a all motor with 600hp on a b20 vtec, unless that motor has turbo. doggystyledave, do you have dyno paper to prove your statment?

Hells no he doesn't. The MAD b16 head blew up at 12,000 rpms.

Dude, like did he really write that?
