I did this not long ago. Just remove the steering wheel and the plastic column covers, unplug all connections, then the whole assembly should slide out as one piece (picture a seagull).

If you're swapping out individual switches from that assembly, be sure to note the alignment/placement of the sliding pieces within the switch when you remove the original. It's easy to confuse, but it'll make sense once you're in there.

And be VERY careful with the each switch's retaining clips, they're fragile.

mahatma
thanks for the reply

Do you really have to remove the steering wheel? That seems like alot just to get to the assembly.
I am not swapping out individual swithces from the assembly...i was able to buy the whole arm/assembly.

what is this switch's retaining clipse you speak of? Does it only pertain to if you replace the individual switches or also the swapping out the whole assembly. I will try to email you a pix of the assembly

any body have pictures or links to this?

The clips only come into play when you're pulling individual switches out, you won't have to worry about those.

Sorry no pics though....and yeah, unfortunately you have to remove the steering wheel, but it's mo easy.

Yea u have to remove the steering wheel... And then remove the 2 covers on the collumb, then theres like 2 screws that hold the switch on, unscrew those, and there is a little hole, u have to use a flathead, and carefully pry between the switch and where it mounts by that little hole (because there is a small piece that snaps into place in that hole, u have to lift it up and then slide the switch out)...
