ok so my left hid went out i checked the fuse and it was blown, so i changed the left headlight fuse and now my altenator fuse blew i replaced all of the fuses and everything worked fine, shortly after the speedo goes out i flip the lights on and they go out as well as the stero. i just replaced my altenator with one that only had 15 thousand miles on it . what could be doing this. i also noticed that the big headlight fuse hunder the hood looked burnt im gutted and dont have many things in the car i took out the a/c and every thing that goes with it . i took out cruise control and p/s and washer fluid motor.i thought it could be that one of those are getting power to it but i made sure everything was off ( the a/c fan switch was on 4 ) i turned it off replaced all fuses except the big headlight one.what could be stopping my car from starting it wont even make a noise , do i need a new dist. or altenator.

You got a serious short somewhere that you need to address. Start working backwards. Look around in the engine bay for any exposed wires. I don't know where to begine to start.

 

ok i think this is the problem when i put my last altenator on i did not disconect the battery. i think thats my problem but i would thin k that it would have started acting up way before now

 

it could be a bad alternator too. check the connections on the alternator. make sure you disconnect both lines on the battery. could also take your alt in and get tested.

its not the altenator i just put a new one in tonight and the car worked fine i sat and let it run like 15 minutes after letting it run i go to drive it , everything is working speedo everything then i get around the block the speedo goes then the lights shut of i barly make it to my drive way which by that point i had the car at WOT and it was barly moving , the car was dead nothing worked lights, windows NOTHING electric all fuses are good i have a new altenator , you guys think it could be the dist?

 

open up the dizzy and see... ecu throwing any codes? and the car runs? can't see how you were WOT and not moving.. unless clutch went out on you or you weren't in gear.

yeah its not like the engine is reving ill have it at WOT and it kinda just sputters at like 5 mph then just shuts off... i have had the swap for about a month in a half , it couldnt be the ecu could it?

 

are you getting any codes from the ecu?
