they will spray it down, scuff it up and tack cloth it. But if it sits for a day, they wont tack it again.

i wouldnt worry, obviously you cant be that worried about getting a good paint job since you took it to macco in the 1st place.

They did my brothers car. Came out alright, but we had to mask off the entire car ourself. Afterwords, we had to take all the over spray off the windows, touch up fender wells and under the hood with flat black etc. If you just roll up there and give them your car with no prep or masking at all, your going to have alot of work to do afterwords is all I'll say

Did you tell them to mask off the bumper vents, grill..all the stuff that you wanted to keep black? if you didn't. They'll just paint right over it..

I thought about taking my car to the local Macco here in North Portland...

I went there for a quote and the guy told me that there would be lots of imperfections, overspray etc... and it would cost $1000!

Why would I pay $1000 for a paint job that they already told me is going to suck?

Plus there was burn out marks all over the road in front of the shop

I might try a different location. I've heard it's all about the location, some shops are good, some bad... also, it might help to slip the guy who will be painting the car a benjamin and ask him to give it a little extra effort...

Your grill will be all white, so will your muffler, mud flaps should you have them and probably some of your window trim..

Grill for sure though.

good luck buddy. I'm in debate to do this too just cuz my paint on my car is just WAY old and faded. I think I might just have them paint it Harvard Blue Pearl again. I love that color anyways. But I would do all the body work and masking when I turn it in.

He traded that car for a teg with a CRVTEC swap. That thing was quick as **** too. Then he sold that to buy a truck. I think that is his 26th car now.

Oh yeah, 1day paint shops = A previous owner had one done and I have orange peel, paint chips, and some over spray.
