Default 95 b18c1 into 91 standard hatch with zc

Hey guys/girls. I just ordered a 95 gsr b18c1 longblock from hmotors along with a b16 lsd cable tranny and obd1 p72 ecu. I already have avid mounts and hasport linkage, i am just wondering about my wiring, like How do i go about getting it to wire up, can i just get a obd0 to obd1 jumper harness or is it more complicated?

b18c1 is non vtec right? if yeah then itll just be the harness and the ecu. if its vtec then you just gotta wire it up. and since you got a zc your obviously already mpfi wired.

The JDM GSR is "B18c" no "1". And yes it does have Vtec and IAB.

I would suggest getting a Skunk2 or AEBS GSR manifold to replace that "seashell" stock GSR manifold. Especially in an EF chassis. You will see how close that throttle body/ TPS sensor comes to that fuel fitting on your firewall. You will thank yourself later when working on your engine.

If you plan to use the complete GSR package with its own injectors and distributor, you will need to convert to OBD1 and eliminate the injector resistor box for your SATURATED GSR injectors. ( You will need to change your injector clips also )

With the OBD0 to OBD1 conversion harness, you will be able to run the OBD1 P72 GSR ecu.

You will need to wire up KNOCK, VTEC, VTEC Pressure, and 4 wire heated O2. If you get a Skunk2 manifold, you will eliminate the IAB's.

I agree with everything that HandCommand says. I've got a 95 B18C in my 89 hatchback (with Skunk2 intake).

Another thing that should be added is that if you run with the Skunk2 intake, you can run a P28 ECU. The P72 is only required if you have the IAB on the stock GSR intake manifold. If you were located in Calif., the state referee would require the P72 regardless of manifold (that's what I have and have gone through the referee process here in L.A.)

ok you guys say that u have to run a p72 for the stock mani, what if u "tie" the butterfly open. will that mean u can run a single stage ecu?
I know it's very mickey mouse but it will work nonetheless?

91bluehatch; converting to OBD1 isn't hard if you buy a conversion harness. Do a search for Ryan @ Rywire.

ChineseGuy; I don't know if you would wire the butter-fly open or closed (it just selects which intake tract is used), but yes it would work. But why? Other than the physical size, the GSR manifold is just fine. The only potential problem is that Acura never made that many P72 ECU's and they can get hard to fine. But then, the P28 is very popular and as such is also getting costly.

Of course, I'd run a chipped P72 or P28 with the Skunk2 manifold, but the guy said he was getting that P72 with his swap. I believe the Vtec engagement point on a stock P72 ecu is too low for the Skunk2 GSR manifold.

If I were him, Id just keep my P72 and socket it for Uberdata or Hondata. Some tuners prefer to have the KNOCK function still functioning when on the dyno and street.

I run a rare P61 in my OBD1 converted CRX socketed for Hondata. I can enable or disable the knock sensor if need be. You dont have that option with a P28.
