Default need help with front windshield.. what products do you use/recomend to clean hard water stains??

like the title states, what do you use to clean off the hardwater stains after rain storms, or washing your car out in the sun?

cuz i bought a brand new windshield about a month or so ago, and its aready showing those damn spots.. and i wanan take them off. also the lines on where the windshield wipers run on the window, and where they dont? you know what i mean?

anywyas what could i use to clean the window so it looks like its brand new again..

i've tried simple glass cleaner, doesnt work.. i havent tried anything besides that tho.

Not too sure how to remove it from your windshield but I assume its all over your paint too. For the paint use 3M Clear coat safe rubbing compound. I have used that on two all black cars that were covered in water spots so much that you couldn't even see your reflection in the paint right after a car wash. When I was done with the rubbing compound the paint looked brand new. Good luck.

Depending on the severity of the water spots, you might not want/need to use a product as aggressive as rubbing compound. A fine polish might work - you always want to go from the least aggressive product and work your way up.

....Uhhhh... I dont think its a good idear to use steel wool on glass.

I use windex + newspaper and it removes hard-water deposits like a charm.

I'd go with either one of these for your glass

clay it, then use zaino glass polish worked in with a porter cable polisher if you have one. this is tried and true method, my girlfriend parked her car next to sprinklers and it baked in the sun all day. to top it off, i didn't work on it for at least a month after that

I've never tried it on a polished lip of a wheel..........I'd suggest you try a small spot more towards the inside of the lip, and see how it looks in several days.

I was skeptical about it
so I tried it cause I had a lot of little scratches on windshield so
this guy tells me to try it.
so I did and it worked like a charm
especially for those headlights that are made out plastik..
and turn yellowish...
it works wonders on them after a couple of times that I did it it looked like new
and then I waxed it...

i think toothpaste works kinda like a wax, it's gotta little bit of an abrasiveness to it, and fills up the "holes" kinda like a wax would.

ok, since we're on the subject of headlights.. the side markers up on the headlight set (for a DA) where the white bulb goes into (not the side marker amber light goes) is kinda blackish.. its not on the outside i dont think.. i think its on the inside, how would i go about cleaning this? i'll take a pic of it if you guys would like me too

you'd have to heat up the light in the oven, pull it apart, and start cleaning from there. i would use a product called "plexus", it is awesome **** for plastic.
