I have a 89 civic( 4 door auto) the engine has gone bad.the engine has throtle body injection And auto trans!My neighbor has a mulity port engine from a (3 door civic 5 SP) Is it posible to swap the TB injection and the auto trans on to his standard engine with little or minamal problems or do I have to find an exsact match! Most of the mounting points seem to be there and the same PS ECT:!The head casting does not have a fuel pump flange and it is not used on my engine anyway.Thats the only difrence I can see.
So will the following stuff be swapable!
Torque converter
Alt and P/S pulleys

 

Yes, you can swap the motor, just keep all of your automatic parts.

Your saying the torque will bolt up to the standard's crank OK?

 

Just switch everything drivetrain related off the donor motor to the items that were attached to yours.

 

Thanx Im a bit worried about the two diffrent fuel systems , But the manifolds look the same so what the heck got to work !

 

Just a little update to this post!

The swap has gone down with out a hitch!The parts from the auto swaped over nicely and the fuel injection and distributor swap over as Well.Many Thanx to latino999!There was a surging idle for a bit, but i found a post on this site that help nail it down to letting the engine warm up till the fan came on (who ever posted that, Let me say thanx)I was bambooseled by that, tried absolutly everything ,Then came in and searched the site here and found a very a good trouble shooting post by some one here, I wish I could find it again so I could link you to it , but I can,t find it again. IT was a step by step method of narrowing down Idle problems in plain english If I find it again, I will repost it as there seem s to be alot of Idle problems posted!
