Common symptoms of high idle (d16Z6/D16a6) mini me? You tell me..
Hey just recently finished a Mini me swap using a D16z6 head/D16a6 block. No check engine lights.
My idle jumps upto 2500 rpm and stays there then goes down toe 1500. (which is normal for the idle to jump high as coolant temperature is low until it reaches normal temperature)
Options:
- TPS sensor
- Vacuum lines
- EACV (I have a vacuum line from the TB connected to it, on the other nipple a coolant line is connected to it...is this correct?)
What else can cause this? I ran FI cleaner and still no help.
Thanks in advance again,
Jon

Sounds like you have air in the coolant system. Bleed it. The 2 nipples on the EACV are both coolant hoses.
Hmm thats probably why. I have one of the TB vacuum lines going to my EACV. Lol crap i wonder where that TB line goes too though =\
give me a picture, If its a vac line for sure it probably goes to the charcoal canister. If its a coolant line there should be a fitting coming off of the Intake manifold for the hose.
I've got the same problem.
I'm a Noob to the community and Honda Hatchies.
Purchased the car a month ago. 91 hatchie si.
The car used to be a track car.
It's got the stock D16.
I have the same Idle problem as Fluffy's.
I'm trying to figure out whawt kind of Mods they did to this car, aside from the horrendous paint and body.

Im using the 96-00 SI manifold (D16Y8). There isn't any vacuum leaks (i plugged up the TB and it shut the engine down) I'm guessing there must be air bubbles in my coolant. Anyone know how to get rid of them?
Thanks,
Jon
Thanks,
Jon

yea tell me how it goes when you swap that EACV/IACV cuz i am having the same problems wid my Y8 IM w/ d15b2/z6 mini-me... btw do you have a dashpot vacuum line wid that Y8 IM ?
Behind and below the distributor is the thermostat housing. On that housing is the bleeder valve for the coolant system. Use a 10mm socket on a long extension and loosen the valve. Then fill your radiator using the hose (or some other pressurized water) until a solid stream of water comes out the valve. Once there are no air bubbles, tighten the valve back down and replace your radiator cap.
I recently put a type R intake manifold on my b16 swap in a 89 rex and have those same issues, wondering if its possibly idol air control.....
I also have a similar problem.. I took my intake manifold off to clean it and do some mild porting, and it idles at way low like at 800-900 rpm.. so low the tach doesnt read it, then from 1000rpm to about 2300rpm it is very choppy unless I am flooring it, like I'm racing or else in a very high gear at like 10mph keeping it under 1000rpm.
Hey, if u used the A6 coolant neck than the bleeder screw is on the neck coming right of the head. And its a 12mm. Also check your throttle cable i know i had a lot of problems with that when i did my A6/Y8 mini me. Never had the idle problems like you have though.
bump any people with some knowledge of why its idling like that? Im thinking of just replacing every friggin vacuum lines =\ I need to fix this before the Eibach Meet!
I think there might be a vacume leak some where around the seal on my hondata gasket on the type R intake manifold but not sure....
Here's a good link on idle troubleshooting:

Everything in there I reccomend as well as resetting your ECU (should be in one of the earlier steps)
