Default rolling fenders?

hey guys, i already did a search on rolling fenders but i never found out how far i should be rolling them. i'm upgrading to a 205/45/16 from a 185/65/14 and i'm pretty sure i'll rub (car is about a 2 inch drop...). should i be rolling them from 10-2 (if looking at an analog clock)? that's about what i would think would be decent. any thoughts? thanks in advance.

don't do it yourself, call around to a body shop and find one that has the right machine for it.

It may cost 100+ bux but the final result is worth it

Most people use a bat to roll them, but you can really mess up the fender quite a bit if you're not careful. Also it can crack the paint, and it will spread.
A friend of mine in Vista has an actual fender rolling device at his shop, that bolts to your hub, and uses a wheel (sort of like a roller skate wheel) to flex the fender by rolling behind it and increasing pressure, but it's an expensive part, and I don't know if you can rent them anywhere.

There only like 200 bux. The trick is to use a heat gun to allow the paint to flex without cracking

by far the best link

try starting more inward , it's less likely the paint will crack.

were talking about a car here right ?

if it's not worth 100 bux to have it done without doing ireversable damage to it if you mess up than maybe you should'nt ever get within 50 feet of my car

yeah, so i decided to give it a go with a bat. that worked fairly well for a bit but didn't give me the room i needed. so, i hammered it. the paint cracked and chipped away on the lip of the fenderwall but other than that...things went well. i just sanded down the chipped portions and primered them with no rust primer.

also, what do you do for the front fenders of a 99 civic? there really wasn't too much to roll...so i left them be for now. i figure that if the wheels/tires rub(getting them tomorrow) i'll just make sure to raise the car up a bit.

lol. you must've been doing it wrong then. put the bat in the fenderwell and put downward force whilst rolling the bat back and forth over the metal. using a bat, it'll take hella long. if you're going to paint next week, take a 4lbs sledge and hammer the ish outta the fenders. that's basically what i did. just do a pre-measurement to figure out how smashed you want them. i did it so i had about 1/4 inch or so left as a fender. lol.

no, I meant I'd go to a professional unless you can afford to mess up your fender and paint using the bat method and afford to fix it at a shop right away.
