not sure if you guys heard but, a new 3.8 mile track is suppose to be put up. the builder/owner is in the construction business. and apparently has the money/know how to get it done in a quick fashion. the site is located at about 150th & avenue D. town meetings for the track is next wed.

the reason it is next to WS supposely is because they are tired of WS's management, who (i speculate due to no immediately local competition) has not made too much effort in facilities improvements. most event masters who's been using WS for years also aren't exactly happy with their service... i mean they are not bad, but could be better.

so the new facility suppose to be kick *** first rate place. i hope it goes forward quickly!! we could always use another so cal track.

i heard it from an event master that has used WS for more than 100 days in recent years. i think it is also in the local town newspapers too because of the town hall meeting. i might go attend on wed if i'm able to. it's be interesting to see how the politics is, and what needs to be done to build a track.

 

If true, I hope it's more like Buttonwillow. 3.8 miles should make a nice track.

Very interesting. It looks like there's nothing around that area so it could be doable. The only thing close is the Poppy Reserve and they might put up a stink, but it looks (from the satellite image) that there's a hill between.

also looks like you could stay on the 5 and take the 138 straight there ... maybe a little longer, but you'd avoid the 14

Very interesting project. Kind of seems to be like a destination resort motoring park. There is nothing out there and a complex like that could probably do well pending they market it. I don't know about living there though...

I hope its nothing like BW. I like elevation changes. But a new track is just a new place to play.

True, more elevations would be great, but what I meant is more turns, and more technical than the big track at Willow springs, not a copy of BW.

The track map illustration looks very similar to a proposed San Diego Motorsport Park that was in discussion a few years ago and backed by the owner of Rubio's (fish taco chain).

 

I know of another who wishes to build a track in SD!
